Raymond J. Kuchinskas of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died Monday, July 19, 2010, at his residence. He was 78.
Born in Edwardsville, Pa., he was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 12 years, moving there from Levittown.
Raymond served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Prior to retirement, he was a high school teacher at Pennsauken High School in Pennsauken for 27 years. He previously taught biology and was a basketball coach at Woodrow Wilson High School in Levittown.
Mr. Kuchinskas was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a love of learning and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Teresa Tirpak Kuchinskas of Port St. Lucie; two sons, Raymond Royce of Pompano Beach, Fla., Jonathan Kuchinskas of Milford, Conn.; three daughters, Patricia Einstein (Mark) of Israel, Laura Dougherty (Robert) of Reston, Va., Valerie Kuchinskas of Ormond by the Sea, Fla.; one brother, Sylvester Kuchinskas (Joan) of Pringle, Pa.; one sister, Maryann Stanovich of Edwardsville, Pa.; 11 grandchildren: Luke, Connie, Danielle, Maurice, Marcus, Emily, Hailey, Ryan, Colton, Tyler and Luke; two great-grandchildren, Amber and Max. Raymond was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Bell.
A funeral service was held Friday, July 23 at St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, with inurnment at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Fla.
