Glenn Thomas McCoy Sr.TRENTON - Glenn Thomas "Big Glenn" "Mack" McCoy Sr., 71, of Trenton, departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Hopewell.
Born in Red Springs, N.C., Mr. McCoy moved with his family to Bristol Township, Pa. in 1946. He was a graduate of Delhaas High School and Bucks County Technical High School in 1960. He had been active playing baseball and track winning a high school letter. He was also a member of the debate team. He had been employed by Kemline, and Strick and later retired from U.S. Steel and General Motors. He was predeceased by his parents, William McCoy Sr. and Hattie Shaw, four brothers, Richard, Edward, Douglas and Jerry McCoy, one sister, Gwendolyn McCoy and a godson, Anthony "Tony" Garvin. Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Dorothy McCoy; one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn Jr. and Sonja McCoy of Ewing; three grandchildren, Tai'Asia "Shug" McCoy of Philadelphia, Pa., Quashawn and Akira Heading of Ewing; two brothers, William Jr. (Doris) and James (Josie) McCoy; two sisters, the Rev. Hazel Miles of Levittown, Pa. and Mother Barbara Wessels of Bristol, Pa.; one aunt, Mrs. Bertha Johnson of St. Paul, N.C.; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Carl, Barbara, Gail and Percy (Justine) Derry; two godsons, Kevin Miles and Carl Washington III; special nieces and nephews, Deborah Perry, Tara, Antoine and Aniyah Harris and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends including family friend, Joseph Morales. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, October 21, at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun St., Trenton. Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the chapel.
