William R. Rupp

William R. Rupp of Edgewater Park died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mount Holly. He was 67.

Born in Philadelphia on March 6, 1943, he was the son of the late William L. and Edith Rupp.

Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the Unysis Corp. for 42 years as a computer technician. After his retirement he worked for Sam's Club as photo manager.

A longtime and devoted member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Willingboro, Bill held many offices down through the years and was currently serving as president of trustees for the church.

He was a 45-year member of the Burlington County Boy Scouts of America serving in many positions including cub master and scout master. Currently he was serving on the executive board and was also a member of the Order of The Arrow, Hunnikick Lodge 76. Bill was also a member of Bristol Lodge 25 Free and Accepted Masons, Beverly-Riverside Lodge 107 Free and Accepted Masons, the Trenton Consistory and the Shrine Crescent Temple.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Myra J. Rupp; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald W. and Jill Rupp of Westampton, N.J., and Douglas A. and Lynne Rupp of Newton, N.J. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Joshua, Dennis and Keith Rupp; his sister, Edith Femea of Spring, Texas; his sisters, Marion J. Daggett of Levittown, Pa., and Debra E. Schaffer of Langhorne, Pa.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 201 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Route 130 N., Cinnaminson. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington, and again from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Bill's name be made to Boy Scouts of America Burlington County Council, Beverly-Rancocas Road, Rancocas, NJ 08073, or to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 201 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro, NJ 08046.
